How to connect Microsoft Entourage to the Exchange Server

Note: If you are using the Entourage EWS edition, please click here to use these setup instructions instead.

Start Microsoft Entourage. Choose Tools Accounts from the menu on the top.

Switch to the Exchange tab and click New, then click on Exchange.

Click on the Configure account manually button.

Under the Account Settings tab, please fill in the following information (see example #1 to the right):

  • Account name: Setting is arbitrary and may be set to anything. Suggested account name is “TechKnowligence Exchange”.
  • Name: Name of user as it should appear when he sends out e-mails.
  • Email address: Type your email address (The primary e-mail address of the mailbox.)
  • Account ID (Entourage): Type your mailbox username (This can be found by navigating to Host Pilot > Users. Click the display name of the user. On the user settings page, click the display name once again. The Entourage Account ID is the "User Name" listed after "Domain\".)
  • Domain: EXCH083
  • Password: Password associated with the mailbox
  • Exchange server:exch083.serverpod.net
    • Ensure that the following is selected: "This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)"
    • Ensure that the following is NOT selected: "Override default DAV port"

Under the Advanced tab, please fill in the following information (see example #2 to the right):

  • Public folder server: east.exch083.serverdata.net/public
    • Ensure that the following is selected: "This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)"
    • Ensure that the following is NOT selected: "Override default DAV port"
  • LDAP server: ldap.exch083.serverdata.net
    • Ensure that the following is selected: "This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL)"
    • Ensure that the following is selected and set to 636: "Override default LDAP port"
  • Search base: OU=BonnOir-Vodka,OU=Hosting,DC=EXCH083,DC=serverpod,DC=net

As a the final step, please follow the intructions below for either Entourage 2004 or 2008:

  • Entourage 2004: Under the Preferences tab, click on the Compose section
    • Ensure that Automatically check names when sending messages is enabled. Note: This checkbox is unchecked by default.
  • Entourage 2008: Under the Entourage menu, select Preferences and then Compose.
    • Ensure that Automatically check names when sending messages is enabled. Note: This checkbox is unchecked by default.
